I just found out where MyWifeEtc got his name from.
Because I've just watched the US version of The Ring. Which sucked, incidentally.
The Japanese version pisses on it from a great height.
Though I did like the scene with a horse jumping off a ferry to its certain death. Never seen that before.

I found the US version to be a lot better overall.
It could be because I saw this version first. I have noticed (from discussing it with people) that whichever version you see first, you tend to like it more.
I have to agree with Vince, the American version, for once was better than the Japanesse.
Ring 2 is gonna be hard to follow because the Japanesse version is very good
I don't think it's that simplistic.
Ringu was the most genuinely scary film I've seen in recent years.
All The Ring had was a few cheap shocks and 2 hours of Naomi Watts looking perplexed and forlorn.
